Operations Mananger (Manufacturing/Engineering)

Parker Plant is a heavy engineering company, offering products and solutions within the Mining and Construction sector. The company has built a reputation for being at the forefront of product design and serves as a trusted partner in the Mining, Quarrying, Demolition, Recycling & Road Building industries. Parker manufactures and supplies a comprehensive range of crushing, screening, asphalt, bitumen and surfacing equipment, concrete mixing plant and conveyor systems. Due to continued expansion and success of the company, we are currently looking for an experienced and outstanding Operations Manager. JOB SPECIFICATION: OPERATIONS MANAGER This key role in the development of the company will require the individual to manage and co-ordinate all issues related to production and logistics within the assembly and installation teams including: * Supplier management (incl. Procurement). * Material handling. * Manufacturing. * Assembly & Installation Management. * Tasked with increasing efficiency and lowering costs whilst maintaining quality. * Manage stock control * Health & Safety responsibilities. With direct management of six plus sub-contract workers as applicable, you will be tasked with identifying bottlenecks or inefficiencies in the operation / production / assembly process - then design, present, implement and manage changes to increase productivity. REQUIREMENTS: OPERATIONS MANAGER * You MUST have a proven track record of success in a Production Management / Operational Management capacity. * You MUST be able to read technical / engineering drawings. Exposure or knowledge of sheet metal fabrication would be an obvious advantage. * You MUST be a leader, motivator and manager of teams. * You MUST have an understanding of logistics as it relates to production (planning / supplier management / material handling. * You will be a problem solver It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Operations Manager ; Production Manager ; Production Team Leader ; Engineering Manager ; Production Logistics Controller ; - Asphalt; Sheet Metal Fabrication ; Mechanical Design
